more problems. yamaha warranties mean nothing.! 4 Years, 1 Month ago
Having a hell of a lot of trouble with yamaha.. bought a brand new road star in Thunder bay ont.. its a 2004 purchased new in 07, On the drive home the road star ( which I love) broke down stranding me in the middle of NO_WHERE!!

After getting a tow 450 km to the nearest yamaha dealer.. they cleaned out the carb, filters and lines and sent me on my way.. Since then the bike stalled occasionally and would start hesitantly after sitting for several hours. Then fine again.

Getting her out of winter hibernation, it just wouldn't start.. I checked everything!!!! Finally. I checked inside the gas tank, which I had filled with fuel and stabalizer ,, and it was FULL of rust..

Since then I have contacted yamaha about the issue and they will not cover the tank. NOW,,, after cleaning the tank myself and taking her out for the first ride.. The fuel pump is leaking like a tap... Again.. Yamaha will not cover what is clearly a warranty issue.

MY anger towards yamaha is overwhelming and a better business bureau complaint has been filed.

MY question!!!!!!!!!!! Im in Canada and phoned to order a new fuel pump.. They claim there are NONE in Canada and have to be back ordered from Japan!!!!!!! does anyone know where I can get a fuel pump with out the extremely long wait!!

I love the roadie and just want her fixed!! best bike I ever owned!

My feelings are take the pump off and then you don't have to worry about it... do they sell 3 year old bike as new up there..

Nakina I had a similar issue. I bought an '06 off the floor january of this year. Brand new bike. I rode a few times and when I would gas it hard then level off the bike would stall. It would refuse to start until I pulled the choke only to stall again down the road. I took it in and rust in the tank. The dealership said they had to eat the cost of the tank because Yamaha said they stored it improperly but I have a feeling that maybe they are prone to rust. Since they replaced the tank and "said" they cleaned the carb and replaced filters I have had no problems but you are probably going to have a hard time getting anyone to cover anything for you using the exscuse it was "improperly stored".

Good luck to you, sorry to hear about the problems.
