87 always...typically Sunoco, BP, Valero or Gulf...depending on which is cheapest in my area...used a tank of Citgo last week and it was the worst crap I have ever run...my mileage dropped from 45 to 37 and the bike ran awful (probably watered down)...have SUnoco in her now and I am back on track for 45

Regards, Ted

Last summer I used 91 octane in my 06 JUST LIKE THE DEALER TOLD ME TO . Bike ran like crap . Its all stock and I have never touched the carb or settings. Started listening to all the guru's on here and changed over to 87, cheapest I can find and the bike runs greatplus, I'm saving a lot of money!
Any time I have a problem or question, I search the clinic first!

when i got my bike a few years ago, the dealer told me to run premium high octane. did that for several years. ran fine. I'm on the coast so I don't have to much of an altitude problem until I take a road trip. just in a whim the other day i put a tank full of 87 in. figured i'd have to run at least a couple of tanks to see the diff. not so, right off the bat idled better, smoother acceleration, better mileage. could not believe the change. and cheaper too. I'm sold.

I sold an 1100 Shadow that wouldn't run on anything but premium in order to buy the R*. I had found this site prior to making the buy (biggest reason I now have the R* is this site). Anyway the gas topic was active at the time so I have always run regular, I prefer Shell or QT (quickttip) and so far, never a problem.

Run Chevron 87 most of the time or shell. Both good.

I avoid the "ethanol enriched" MOHAWK crap. My Roadie hates Alcohol.....
FAS-GAS and PETRO CAN are favorites. CHEVRON is good, but harder to find up here. SHELL is the most expensive in any town.

I have yet to own a machine that performs better on "premium" fuel. Guess I need a 117 inch S&S motor with 10.5 to 1 compression ratio.

87 all the way. Shell mostly. Chevron not popular in DFW, but the GWRRA rank & file Swears by Techron as a valve cleaner-upper. I've tried the $6.59 suppliment in a vehicle after some repairs to help restore cleanliness and performance, and have to say it worked well, although I ran it at about double the label concentration.
