lost fuel pump 8 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi everybody, I've removed my fuel pump and installed the larger needle valve. Looks great without that big thing hangin on the side. I've also vented my cap to allow it to let the fuel flow, but (opps there was that famous word) it fells like it is getting starved for fuel. I have had a full tank when it has happened and as soon as I turn it to reserve it clears right up. I have not checked the screen on the petcock for dirt yet. I have priced new ones and will only go that route when all else fails. If anyone has had this problem and found a way to solve it I'd love to hear it.

Thanks
Chris

I'm sorry I guess I should add a few details to help. It has only done this when cruising. Mostly low speed 30 to 50 mph. I have ran it fairly hard adjusting the jetting and it has never stutterd during that or racing my brother. Thats what makes me confused the most. When i installed the needle valve I checked the float setting and appeared to be on the money.

With a full tank, if it starves on normal but runs on reserve then I think you've answered your own question.

The petcock tube inside the tank must be partially blocked. Beats me how that would have happened.
