memphis shades observation/question 5 Years, 9 Months ago
Just got my m/s fats installed on my 06 R* ,and had a question for those who are running this set-up. It seems to move around alot at speeds of 75-80 on the interstate. I think it's a 19" but that info escapes me right now. I did notice that for the R* application there are little "bumpers" built on the back of the mounting hardware by design that hit the fork leg covers , leading me to believe that Memphis knows that this shield moves around alot at speed. It does not do it at cruising speeds (up to say 60), but after that it gets "busy". I've used Memphis shades for years on other cruisers and never experienced this. Your opinion?

Post edited by: Big Bear, at: 2006/08/28 06:45

Hey Big Bear,

I don't have Memphis Shades but there was a thread where a few guys were talking about a problem similar to your and I think they got it resolved satisfactorily. Here's link to thread: http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,91/func,view/id,7895/catid,49/

Hope this helps.

Hey Bear,

I have a 21" Memphis Fats on my R*.. and was doing 90 or so back and forth to Denver today.. no unusual shake to it.

Make sure that the metal spacers in the headlight mounts didnt fall out during the install.. otherwise the brackets wont sit solid...
