So I get the brilliant idea to blow down the shoulder. About the 5th car I passed at just under light speed was a CHP unit.
  • You should have just gone between the cars, I pass cops that way all the time. You can go between the cars, but the shoulder is illegal.

By the way "lane splitting" is illegal too and would be considered reckless driving and would land your butt in jail and bike impounded. At least in Georgia it will.

Lane splitting, although a bad idea IMO, is not illegal in all states. Georgia.....yep. Here's the address to the AMA M/C laws page. Use the pull down box to find your state. Lane splitting is towards the bottom.

One of the reasons I ride a cruiser is because I don't have enough common sense to keep the horses under control. My horses were always trying to do something stupid like that crouch rocket. Those guys have the cohoonas.

If you hit it right the Roadie can get up, just not that high without hitting the fender. So newroadie, give it a shot...

I'd be "cruisin' for a bruisin'" if I tried something like that.

I had a 72 Chevy Vega with barely enough horsepower to roll so I got in the empty right turn lane to keep up my speed and when the light changed I kept going (wringing it's little neck) and scooched in front of a car that left the most space.

    It was an unmarked cop.

He pulled me over and as he was walking up to my window...

    He was laughing.

    How dumb was I? I was 16.

There is something about underpowered vehicles and tickets that go together. Every ticket I have had was earned in/on a vehicle that couldn't get out of it's own way. I think it's because I'm afraid to let off the gas for fear that I may never get it going again.

Lane splitting is legal in California. Not here in Oregon...

I cant say anything bad about the guy I am guilty of the same thing..... Here is a shot of my on my TL

And I will not tell you that I am running around the century mark in that pic. Everything we do is a risk, if today is your day, you're gonna go no matter if you are on a bike doing a wheelie, in a car, sitting at work, on vacation. Dosent matter, if its your time its your time. I dont advise such riding habits because you have to accept the risks, but for me its fun, I love wheelies, endo's (stoppies) and I have almost perfected the figure 8 burn out, I have the complete circle burn out down pat wit no feet on the ground.

I dont do these things in traffic like the pic in the first post, so if something does happen its just stupid ol me that gets hurt, but 1000cc v-twin wrapped in plastic just has be taken and walked from time to time.
