cant find info on ape hangers 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago

i want to put a set of kong ape hangers on my 01 rs. i have looked around but cant find good info. someone please send me in the right direction about what cables and other stuff i will have to change to put these on. thanks |

Depends on what info you're looking for, how big the apes are,etc.... I can tell you that I have 12.5 inch apes and I kept all my stock cables, just had to reroute the front brake line.

I've got the kong bars on my roadstar, I also have the idle cable and the front brake cables for sale, they are stainless with clear coating, all you would need is the throttle cable and clutch cable which you can get on barons website.

the wiring has to be lengthened by you, its a fairly big job, time consuming but you have to take your time and solder all the joints, just make sure you stagger them because it'll be way easier to fish them threw the bars. I think I lengthened my wires 18 inches, they could have been shorter but I'd rather be too long than too short.

man, the kongs are exactly the ones i want! other than cables and wires you dont need anything else like risers? how do you like the ride compared to stock? i do some distance riding are they comfortable enough for that? thanks for your help. also are the cables you got for sale new or used?
