JHouse - if you're looking around Houston for helmets, try the HD shops (expensive but good collection) or try the Honda shop on 290 outside of BW8. The Honda dealer at West/290 had prices that were the same that I found on the net. The Yamaha shop on 1960 is pathetic in their selection. (ok.....they're pathetic in more ways than that but this is a helmet thread).

Thanks old buddy, I love that Honda shop at 290, they have treated us right.

I live on 290 and made a commitment to ride my road* as much as possible. I am a service provider and sometimes travle 500 miles a week. I have a scorpion with the pop down/up visor. Really like this helmet, also have a hjc full face whith the open section, not bad when you crack the shield, find my self with the full front open at stop light. But as stated earlier when it rains then stops you cant keep the full face from fogging. Agree the shop on 290 is probably the best selection and price is reasonable. If you see a really big guy on a black and white just honk and i'll wave.

Re:Full face helmet for HOT weather? 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
i use a nolan n100 all year round

it´s one of those flip-front lids, but i only flip up the front in gas stations as catching a large bug at 80+ in the face HURTS (and we get locusts here. i copped one of them in the shoulder one day at around 90mph and it left a bruise, AND i was wearing a leather jacket!)

it has air vents on top and on the chinpiece, so it stays pretty cool in the summer even at temps of 45ºc+

To save anyone else the trouble of looking it up.... 45ºC = 113ºF. That's pretty hot even by Houston standards....

Where are you located Erizo? Death Valley or the Sahara?

Dont know if you can get them in the states but ROOF boxer helmets are great, can be worn as an open face or converts to full face in seconds
Use mine all year round, so wind rain, hail, snow and occasional rain
