I'm looking too.

My wife is very unhappy with passenger pillion. And when we do hit a bump she's not happy. Wondering if I also need to upgrade to progressive spring or more.

Wife keeps saying how comfy the Fat Boy was that we rented last year in Florida. Need help saving credibility of my Road *.

Hi and welcome to the clinic.

There was a discussion a week or so ago about the Ultimate seat vs Mustang seat. I think the Ultimate seat won. Look here ...

Hi Redknight,

I had the mustang seat on my old bike. I just got the Ultimate seat and I can tell you for the few extra dollars go with ultimate seat. No monkey butt needed. I put it on and road 250 miles in 90 degree weather. No sweating and no pain in the butt. I don't think the mustang breaths as well and not as comfy.

Regards,

I've had both, both are good. The Ultimate is a little "softer" and the back rest is great... and a must.

Re:New seat question 3 Years, 11 Months ago
I been asking myself this same question. I THOUGHT I wanted a Mustang, But I was at Shadetree and sat on one that was on a RS and decided against it. It pushed me forward way too much and the seating surface was much smaller and kinda made the bike look funny to me. So I scratched that and went in and bought Two of the new Gel/sheepskin seat cushions. Like $200 wasted! My GF and I did a 600 mile trip, we took em off at 230 miles sore as all get out, they made the seat seem harder than stock. I read all people have to say here and ordered the whole gambit in the Ultimate Seat, I don't think I'll be sorry, Nearly a $900 setback, Next is air ride. And then could I be done?

I ALMOST put the gel pads in the factory seat, glad I did not.

It's never done! When I bought mine it had everything I needed,I thought. That was before the sheepskin covers, no good I ordered the Ultimate seat. Bucks lowers, Tomtom gps, chrome side covers, Passenger floor boards. Now I looking into some new saddle bags and a ThrottleMeister cruse control. I tell you it never ends! There is too much stuff out there to ever have it "just right"

I have the ultimate, offset back rest, and pillion pad...i really like them, but i still got a pain in my tail bone after about 1 hr. I took it to an appolstry guy that does cars and motorcycle seats, and he pulled the foam from the pan, and put a gel pack between the pan and the foam. Helps quite a bit, now its tollerable anyway. The wife certainly likes the pillion pad better than stock. cant speak to the mustang as i've never had one or sat on one, but the ultimate is really great.
hope this helps a bit.

and what moondog said is right...its never done.
