Javawave the elect. is a basic hook up for a stereo system not a big thing. I had to run a ground to the battery, a hot lead to the battery positive and then tie into a hot lead that is operated by your ignition switch. You just need a test light and take your left side cover off and find a wire that turns off and on by the switch. If you want I can pull my side cover off and look at which wire I tied into???

I pulled the side cover off today, I found a blue wire off the head lamp at the fuse box, is that the one you hooked into?

Congrats!

Which fairing is that? Is that the ABS one? Just curious, what is your painter charging to paint the fairing?

I was considering getting one, but would like it to match the existing color on my bike.

BTW, did you test fit to see if they sent you the right one before you have it painted and all? Or are the all the same and the brackets are different?

I got the WOC fairing. No I didnt test fit it, even though they advise you too. A leap of faith, I wanted to get it to my painter the day it came in. I am having it matched to the Midnight Star black bike I have, the pearlized coat runs the cost up a little, $360.00 for the paint job. He is very good and I have faith in him.

Hey Javawave
You might want to check out a better stereo antenna if you live in a rural area, or travel much. If you live closer to a metro area you should have no problems. I haven't upgraded yet, and I lose stations pretty quick around here, or when I'm traveling.

This is what several that have purchased the WOC have went with. Thet say it helps quite a bit.

just curious how much was shipping on the woc fairing? How good is that stereo. I heard of a kawi guy with a nomad that put in a better pioneer stereo and infinity car speakers (for about $250) (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-cruisers/74441-nomad-audio-system.html). My concern about swapping to non-marine speakers is the rain factor Any thoughts? This fairing is probably on my shopping list for next year. Have already spent my quota for the year

Ok, good news bad news, good news is its back from the painter, ( he only charged me 60 bucks after quoting 340.00 I guess its good we bowl together. More good news, the dry fit up is perfect. Bad news, they changed the windshields to a harder one that is not supposed to scratch as easy, its brittle, broke in two while mounting it. They are sending me one out at NC but that holds things up a bit. I bought two, the 10" and 5 1/2" sport, but even the 10" which broke is pretty short. Shipping on the whole deal was only 40 bucks. I'll keep you posted. I'm a little PO'd at the windshield at the moment, but they are making it right, and things happen. So I am trying to keep a positive spin on it. I'm the type the stands at the microwave screaming for it to hurry up.

Hey slyguy
The shipping on mine was $50.00. As for the Jensen stereo system, it's not bad. The weak link probably being the speakers. They don't seem to handle all the power of the receiver without distorting. I'll eventually upgrade to some higher watt Polk marine speakers, but the Jensen system is OK for the money. As far as the rain factor, a week ago Monday I rode most of the day through heavy rain, and several times through out the week, and the stereo cover never really got wet. Also, the rubber windshield gasket kept the inside of fairing nice and dry, I was impressed. So, I wouldn't worry to much about non-marine stereo system getting wet going down the road. I changed my 10" windshield out for my 5" shield, and wished the whole week that I hadn't. I'm 6'1" and the 5" didn't do as good a job of keeping the rain or wind away, also I couldn't hear the stereo as well either.

Hey Javawave
Sorry to hear about shield, but hey, you saved $300. You sound about as patient as me. I hope your shields are a better quality. Both of mine scatched if you just look at them wrong. I do think you'll like the 10" better though.

hey coachdan. Thanks! I'm not worried about riding in the rain. I'm worried about getting stuck in a monsoon and have to pull over and can't find shelter for the bike. I think when I order I'll get the 10" only. Probably get one clear, one tinted. I like your trunk. Where did you get that? Does that work with a rear pillion? I have the yami luggage rack that connects to the sissy bar, don't know if that would work.
