Pop Rivet - I love the Corbins Dual Tour. I have tried out a couple of others but found it was best for me.

Doc - I use the Pledge on my painted parts as well! It really brings the colour out.(if black is a colour?!)

If the scratches are on an older windshield, taillight lens, signal lens, or a buddies visor I use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze. It is a two step process. There is a 'clear plastic cleaner - 17'(8oz. white jug) and a 'clear plastic polish - 10'(8oz. blue jug). The stuff is amazing! It removes the fine scratches and makes plastic look new again. I was introduced to the product about fifteen years ago at our fire hall, the guys use it to polish the scratches out of lexan visors on the helmets.

Regards
Ricker

First yamaha so I can't say much about their products, but honda actually made a product that all honda dealers keep in stock that was designed to take light scratcthes out of windscreens, the service dept at the honda shop i bought from said they used it frequently on wings. Then again , refer back to Docs statement about making it worse, first.

Another one for Pledge. I use it on the whole bike, except the windshield (don't have one)

Pledge? Lemon Pledge furniture polish? OK...now I'm intrigued. Exactly WHAT parts can you use it on--just painted, or what else? I imagine on nothing that gets too hot. Do tell, beause I have a can just sitting, begging for a purpose. I tried that Blackhawk Motorcycle Cleaner, and it's GREAT...if you like dull white streaks everywhere and the overwhelming smell of bad vinegar.

Is this pledge deal something you senior board guys due to new Roadie owners, kinda like what the boy scouts do to new boy scouts on campouts---sending them to another tent to get 6 feet of shoreline and a couple skyhooks to pitch tents, and a left-handed smoke-shifter for the campfire...?

Thanks,

RK

You found me out

I use it on the whole bike if it's dusty. Chrome, paint, plastic. Also good for removing bug juice.

Just spray it on and wipe off. The only problem is that after it dries it streaks a bit so you need to go over with a clear dry towel.

After Pledging the bike you can actually feel how slippery the surface is but Pledge's waxing benefits don't last too long.

Doc

Whoops .... I don't use it on the seat.

Post edited by: DocShadow, at: 2006/09/13 21:37

Welcome to the slip slidin' seat club, Musky. But at least it's a mistake we only make once! And it really does remind you just how much torque is in our v-twin toys...

Most of us have been equally smart.
