Sometimes it's called a "ride bell" or just a "bell". Other things also but I don't know them all. It has different meaning to different people.

I don't call mine a gremlin bell and it wasn't given to me as that. That is also why mine is not hung low on the bike. For me it's a bell that is given from one rider to another and it carries the spirit of all riders. When you ride you are riding with everyone who loves riding. Past and present. You are never really riding alone. When the bell rings it's telling you stories from the past, warning you of something, saying hi, or maybe just letting you know they're enjoying the ride too.

Two things:

When you polish it remember those that are gone.

For the bell to truly carry the spirits of all riders it must be given to you.

That's how I think of it anyway.

Mine is hanging from the old air system mount between the front down tubes.

Funny thing is that I don't know where it came from. I've just had it laying around for years.

figured a couple weeks ago that it was sent by the unknown, so i put it on the bike.

Musky, thanks for taking the esoteric, philosophical road. Now I'm all deep in thought about this bell thing.
