It doesn't have to be anything special. You can get little brass bells at hardware stores, nic nac shops, dog training stores......

Here's a couple links for "official" type bells if you want them.

Gremlin bells

Guardian bells

I bought a couple for a few biker friends from www.gremlinbells.com.

(None for myself since they are supposed to be given to you) and they were quick to respond by email and very quick to ship. I would recommend that site for doing business with. Got them in in just a few days and wasn't disappointed. Their prices are about half of what you would pay at a dealer and they were very friendly people there.

Like some others, I used the old AIS bracket and an "S" hook to mount mine. Bolts right in. I have used the gremlinbells.com site three times in the last couple of years to send them to friends that bought their first bike. I have the bell shipped directly to them in a nice litle gift box with the legend attached and everytime it's been a very appreciated surprise for them. It's just my little way of welcoming them to "the wind". My son got me mine after I had a pretty bad crash in 04....so far it's worked as it's supposed to

I must be really lucky. I had something knock mine off while riding. Maybe it wiped out the gremlins in my neck of the woods.
