I'm going to try to stick a gel pad inside my seat 3 Years, 11 Months ago
As I have said, my after market seat is great looking, but hard as a carp.

My son and I just carved up the foam on his Magna's seat to get him a lower and farther back riding position. It worked great. He said it transformed the bike. Looks stock too. We cut about 2 to 3 inches of excess foam out of the rear of that thing. It was waaay too fluffy.

So that got me thinking I could scoop out a place and reshape the foam and stick a gel pad in there and recover it.

All it took on his bike was a serrated knife and a staple gun. One site I saw said to buy an electric carving knife at Wally World for $10 for a smoooooooth cut.

So the question is: Has anyone tried anything similar? Got any pointers or concerns or warnings?

Is that different than the old electric knives everyone got 30 years ago? Two serrated blades that slide back and forth in opposite directions?

Yep! that's the one... But, now that we're all a little older, we've had to cut back on the Ham and Roast Beef, so we can only use them to slice Turkey...
Uh, I'll take the white meat please...

I've thought about doing that too, as even though i have an ultimate, and gel underneath, it still bothers me after about 1 hr. let us know how it works.

I did that trying to save the stock seat. I did it and it looked good but it was not enough to save my butt. Ended up with an Ultimate which is great for me.

That's what I use ... the WalMart one. It works great and when it gets dull just throw it away.
