I'm gonna fix that next winter - get ready poprivet lol. You can't use anything that's harsh or abrasive because they are coated at the fatory - like your forks. If they're that oxidized maybe the coating is already gone. I clean mine with a hand steam cleaner - rims too. Get yer polish/chrome cleaner rub it in by finger until it turns black then rub with a 2" piece of cardboard.This will bring it back to life.
