Floorboards 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Has anyone used the kit that moves your stock floorboards forward 3 inches? And are there any recommendations for what is a good brand or web site to get them? Thanks

How difficult is it to mount for someone not mechanically inclined, like myself?

Not hard to mount at all. BUT. Use a small torch to heat up the bolt heads before you try and take them out. If you don't melt the Loctite you will most likley mess up at least one bolt heads.

Thanks for the info., I don't like the sound of using a torch and messing up bolts though. Is the torch a must?

Yes it is. I found out the hard way!! As a matter of fact I still have the end of the allen wrench stuck in my hole on the left side cause it snapped off, and I can't get it out. You have to heat it up to release the loc-tite.
I got mine from Billjr through ebay. They are real nice lookin, and easy to install (unless you break the allen wrench off )

Just got mine from J&P Cycle.
They're made by Lighting Performance.
I got extremely lucky and didn't heat the bolts,
yet I got them out with no problem.
Again I was extremely lucky.
The whole process took around 20 to 30 minutes, maybe.
One of the best investments I've made.
Now I can set in the seat instead of on the back edge of it.

Made mine via this http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/74/107/. Won't work with the Cobra bars I have now but worked beautiful when I used them. Still have them just in case. made a template also.
