That was weird. I just put 1,000 miles on the Road* and hadn’t had time for any dirt biking. Today I un-trailered my Honda 450X and scared the crap outa myself.

I’d got used to that big 1700 beast and the Honda was a bit light and torquey. I think it actually helped my dirt riding, because now the dirt bike feels so easy to navigate.

Before, the 450 was intimidating and felt huge.

I race motocross and I tell you right now my Roadie doesn't have crap an my RMZ450. That bike flat out hauls ass. Keep in mind the 450 is 230 lbs with 55 hp and the Roadie is 750 with 75 horses. Power to weight it isn't even a contest.

I will say my dirt riding made the Roadie a snap to ride.

Yes, I think dirt bike riding really hones your skills. Say for instance, your front tire starts slipping in some sand on a tight turn, or your rear tire slides out from under you - it's not such a shock and you know how to react.

It is a big change. I have a YZ125 and it is like riding a broomstick after being on the roadie. It takes a while to get back in the groove again for the dirt. roadhog1

Throwing my old Honda XL250 around was a snap now the R* is a little more of a hand full but if I had the 250 again not telling what I could do with it now.
