My older brother and his wife got involved with BACA for the last five years, from my point of view it seemed like they tried too hard to give the general public the idea that they are hard core bikers right on the edge of being outlaw bikers.
They never go riding just for the hell of it, it always has to be a BACA event. It turns into a life style rather than just being a bike club. My brother quit a couple of months ago and all of these thousands of "friends" he has all over the country no longer have anything to do with him.
Anyone can help abused children, you dont have to put on the persona of a badass biker.
I think they are a bunch of phonies, I wouldn't ride with them if you paid me.
