After breaking my passing lamp I went ahead and replaced my blinker (right side) because it had a slight scratch it. Anyway, the wire colors are completly different and I've blown about four fuses trying to hook them up. Enough to think I might have a short somewhere but I would like to know for sure that I have it hooked up right. Do you guys know of anyway to determine which blinker wires are which. You should have atleast one that is black.. so that would be simple. I did that to mine and now have red running lights and turn signals on the rear on all the time. The new fixture probably is red, white, and black: black is ground, white for running, red for turn. Moderator Posts: 12511 Re:A question about flashers 3 Years, 10 Months ago   The older 03 and below use 1157 bulbs the newer user those stupid three prong bulbs. I bought my passing lights, bar and front signal lihts of e-bay for $73 and they were from the older model. I took my front lights and put them on the rear and wired them up. You can take an 1157 buld and grind one nib off the bulb (I think it is the lower one) and use it in the three prong sockets. Beats paying the dealer price for a three prong. I had to add some wire to them. My thought was that black would be ground and the other two woudn't matter. I actually had it hooked up where the broken right front flasher was staying on and flashing when it was supposed to. I thought everythng was alright until I noticed that the brake light also flashed when the turn signal did! I'm going to look at the wires again and see if there wired like Clifford said. It helps a lot to know how their supposed to be wired and I "hope" their wired wrong now.
