Dunlop Tires 5 Years, 8 Months ago
Anyone have the Dunlop Cruisemax tires on their Roadie? I have the opportunity to pick up a new set at a good price, but I'd love to hear a mini-review from anyone who has experience with them. What attracts me to these (aside from the price) was the nice wide whitewalls. They'd go well with my nice white bike...

TIA,

RK

I have used them in the past and they do ride very well. But they do tend to ware quick because they are a fairly soft compound.

I am on my second set of cruisemax tires and they seem to be wearing pretty well.I had 12400 miles on the first set but they were shot at that mileage.we were in yellowstone park and I couldn't figure out the howling noise from the front of my bike when powering through a curve.Well it was my front tire cupping and the rear tire was showing cord .I did make it ok but will pay closer attention to the mileage on them from now on.

Thanks, Bama & Flatpockets...they don't sound too bad! I was looking at Metzlers, too, but they are pricey, and the only ones I saw on websites were...brown?

the metzeler 880´s are the best handling and sticking tyres i´ve put on mine. just gotta see what they wear like.

lets put it this way, i´ve only got 10mm chicken strips on my front and back tyres

i posted my findings to date here http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,91/func,view/id,6744/catid,49/limit,10/limitstart,0/

the me880´s are also available in whitewall

I have the Metzler 880 on mine, BUT, I do have a question. Does anybody else have a whining noise at highway speeds from their front 880’s? The front and rears have about 1000 miles difference and was real disappointed when the whining started. Yammmy dealer here said that was normal . Whining from a tire in the ol' days meant you bought a cheap tire. Thanks, Paul

can´t say that i´ve noticed, but my exhaust is a bit louder than standard, and at highway speeds here (75-85 mph) there is too much wind noise.

are you sure it´s tyre noise and not belt whine?

I agree with erizo .... are you sure it's not the belt.

I have the same tires and I really like them. Of course I don't think I hear much bike noise at highway due to both wind noise and the earplugs I wear.

Thanks for the input, everyone...I think I'm gonna wait and get the Metzlers. Not like I NEED new tires now, anyway, with only 4K on these. I think I can find a few other things to add to the bike instead...

I've been running the Cruismax on my 03 Roadie for about 5000 and I'm about to change to the 880's. The front tends to cup badly if you don't keep the preasure just right and I don't think they stick near as well as the 880's. just my 2 cents.
