Fuel Pump relocate under tank 5 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi All! I am at the "throwing wrenchs state" trying to figure out how to fit the fuel pump under my tank on a 05 R*. I read about it on No Pork.com but, no pics (guys have to have pics ) Anyone else done it and have pics or can explain it better? Thought this would be an easy mod but.......

Hi, just my experience, I tried it and did not like the tight fit, fuel line routing, and extra noise of the pump -humming maybe vibrating a bit against the tank. For me it just did not make sense so I ended up putting it back to stock location. After considering the options, the stock location seems like the best place for the reliability and functionality of the pump. Others may have had luck using the Barons relocation kit that puts it back under the side cover. Again, thats just my experience/opinion.

Best luck,
Mike

I relocated mine under the tank. It fits up to the neck cross ways, (is that's a word )I put the wire from the original over the section of hose that runs off the filter to keep the bend from kinking on me. I did not have to run any extra electrical, used a total of 4 1/2 foot of hose. After 8000 miles, I did take the tank and grinded the bolts that stick out and hit the filter every time I take the tank off, (which is a lot )I like to tinker too much. Other than that, it's good to go. Paul

The pump is fine where it is for my taste, I am going to either put on the chromium 2 lines for fuel and oil or the spring hose covers. ....Coug
