How long were you out for tranny recall? 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Just wondering, for those of you that have suffered through bike withdrawl during the recall, how long did your bike sit at the dealer before you got it back? When I originally called the dealer, he told me he had the parts in stock, and that the bike would take priority because its a safety recall...I brought it on a Tuesday, and he said it would be done by the weekend....well, he didnt specify which weekend ...I called Friday to see if he was on schedule, and now its looking like next weekend (I hope!)...

Well I couldn't ride my bike for 4 months....Had to wait for Yamaha to start making the replacement parts.
But when they were ready, the dealer brought a trailer to my house "Which is forty miles away from their shop" loaded it up on a Friday morning then brought it back Saturday morning by 10:00.

I was only out for day or two. It was winter and Yamaha was desperate for work so after they called 3 times to remind me I took it in and pretty much picked it up the day after.

Three days for mine but the shop wasn't super busy either. I think it depends on the workload of the shop and whether they have the parts in or not.

It was last October, just as our riding season was winding down. I don't think they had it even a week.

Fortunately for me, I had a V-Star Custom to ride while my baby was in the shop.

I had mine done mid September of 2008. Took them 5 days to get kit in, then I brought my bike in. I was riding it home 2 days later. The staff did very good work. B J's Yamaha in Albuquerque.

No leaks or ERRORs!
