I've been doing high end auto detailing for quite a while and have a great reputation for doing execellent work on autos, trucks, RV's, and so on. I'm considering offering this service to bikes. We have the right equipment and supplies to do an awesome job on any bike. We're able to get into areas most people just give up on. The question is,

"Is this a service bike owners would be interested in?"

We've been professionally trained by one of the top detailing in the nation who's quality has earned him the honor of detailing the President's plan, "Air Force One". We are fully insured so our clients can be assured their vehicles are protected.

I like cleaning and polishing my bike myself but it might be worth it to get it done professionally once a year.

The HD "posers" may be a larger and more lucrative market for you than us metric guys. If you want to get into this in a big way then you may want to consider franchising your idea (including training and proprietary products). It worked for Ray Kroc!

You need to go to a yuppie bike night somewhere and hand out flyers and business cards. Those posers have the money to blow and would pay for something like that. Then again, maybe there is no market for it there either. A bike has to be ridden in the rain to get dirty enough to need a detail, and they only ride in sunny skies. It depends on your location and the market if it would go or not. Only way to know for sure is to try it. As for me personally, only myself, prospects/probates, and hot chicks clean my bike. Not necessarily in that order.

That would be a good service to have after a long road trip to get your bike professionally cleaned. I like to clean my own too but after a long trip where it gets really cruddy that would be the cats meow. (a southern slang for great)

One of the services we provide is paint correction. This includes scratch removal and paint sealers, Much better than wax! Also, we take care of all the micro-scratchs and swirl marks on hard saddle bags and fairings. These services go way beyond your typical cleaning. I hoping bike owners can see the value in a service like this. I will begin my advertising for these services and see how it goes. One never really knows until they try...

Sounds like a good idea. I could envision folks wanting to do this at least once or twice a year perhaps at the beginning of the season to get a clean start and then part way the riding season. Folks getting ready for a show or bike night may want to deep clean (or another service like a mini-clean "get right for bike night" prep).

Could supplement with a few services like chrome polish, paint and dent repair, bike cover sales, selling dusters and towels (Griots model, etc.). I would use you.

I think the market is there. I couldn't afford to have mine done so it's a good thing i enjoy doing it. However, i believe there is a lot of people with money to share that for whatever reason would gladly pay to get a good detail.

The only thing I see that MIGHT cause an issue is, Being in a Yamaha shop trying to pull the HD guys in. We all know they have money to throw away. But would they be caught at a Yamaha dealer??? Good idea though. Good Luck.
