I also need to come up with a way to secure it to the backrest. Any ideas? I'm thinking I might drill two small holes through the tubing, someplace on the lower portion of it. Either that or I will figure out another way to mount it. Let me cut out a pattern using 1/2 hardwood plywood and we'll go from there. I actually was thinking about putting the spikes on the front of the pad, just to be different... give it that sadistic look, if you know what I mean . I don't think I have seen anything like that before! Since my bag carriers have been chromed already, it doesn't make sense to change the bag so I figure I'd see if you could add fringe to them. I've included a sample of what I'm looking for and will send a pic of the current bags on the bike.
