Hey starcruiser I like the mole thing. As far as scraping, the higher you have the boards tilted the more they will scrap. I have some material at work you could screw into the bottoms of you boards at the rear corner that will quiet it down so you dont get the snot slapped out of you. (And, I like the the sparks!) Years ago, I worked with a machinist who introduced Delrin into the manufactureing process as a replacement for the nylon parts the company used to produce...
