Verdict is in... 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Well it's been about 2 weeks since my 2001 Roady came back from the recall at the dealer. It took the 2 wks for me to get about 1000 miles on the bike to be sure everything is good. The bike went in with 42,000mi and completely stock, had never had any issues with the bike, just bought gas, oil, and tires.
I talked to the mechanic, and once the parts came in I dropped off the bike and waited they completed the job and asked to keep the bike another day due to a noisy lifter on test run. The next day when I stopped it was ready they had removed and flushed the lifter and tested it. I started the bike to leave and the lifter started ticking pretty good again. they heard it too, and we decided to replace the lifter. When I picked it up in a couple days Yamaha covered the parts and labor even though the recall did not take them into the Cam or Lifters.
The bike has been running great, after a long winter of reading this forum and buying some parts for the future.
I realized something...My headlight does rattle...so I fixed that last week.
My recall was done at 2 Brothers Yamaha La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Wow....sounds like you found a genuine "dealership" rather than the common "stealerships" found here in Houston! Good Deal & hang on to those guys!!!
