another ais question 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I'm trying to remove the ais on my 99. Do I have to remove the engine bar to remove the bracket holding the ais pump on? The screw holding the pump to the bracket is messed up.
Thanks
Bruce

I didn't have to on my 06 but yours is a 1600 so I'm not sure.
As for the screw cut a groove across the screw head and use a flat blade.
A dremel works good if you have one. Hope this helps some.

allsanitylost: NO you do not have to remove the engine bar. On my 2000, I had one screw where the head got ripped up, I drilled it and used an easy out. Using the dremel tool is a good idea, as well.
