Headlight Rattle 3 Years, 4 Months ago

I like Visors! I have put them on many a bike and love the look.
It just seems any time you touch a headlight for any reason it will rattle when your done. Here's a handy little tip which has worked flawlessly every time I have used it. Take the headlight assembly out of the housing and take it completely apart. Wrap ALL metal to metal areas with a good quality vinyl electrical tape, usually 1 wrap will do. This acts like a rubber washer plus it snugs things up just enough. Put a couple layers on the housing tabs and over the screw holes before putting the headlight assembly back in the housing. This should do it

I just "fixed" the rattle on my headlight...Tried the electrical tape thing with no avail. I was trying to figure something to use, I didn't have any single sided sticky rubber, so I remembered that I had some extra length of vinyl hose from installing my refrigerator in the house...it has ice and water dispenser. I cut about a 12" section length wise and then sized pieces off of that to fit over the tabs at the top, the little intdention spots at about the 4 and 8 o'clock positions and one at the 6 o'clock. I also disassembled the 2 screws that control the angle of light and put 3 vinyl washers at all metal2metal points, also wrapped the screw holes that mount the light assy to the 'bucket' and reassembled...fired it up and it works NO rattle, I think Yami really should fix this problem...oh well . But the headlight rattle is more like a sqeak, so do you duct tape it, then WD-40 it, then pour cat's blood on it while wearing the bones of 13 chickens during a full moon in the middle of a pentagraph and a rabbits foot in your left pocket...THEN WILL THE RATTLE STAY GONE FOR MORE THAN A MILE????
