'08 R* exhaust 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I just bought my '08 RoadStar Silverado. I love the bike, but I want to add an exhaust for better performance. I've looked @ all the manufacturers websites, but cannot find an exhaust for the '08 model. Everything I've seen only goes up to 2007 model. Is the 02 sensor placement on 2008 model different than the 2007? I know for sure that 2008 has them in the pipes themselves. Plz give a brother a hand and help me out!! Thanks, Justin!

i recently bought an 08 road star S...looked and looked for pipes, couldnt find any, called cobra direct, they said 60 more days theyd be selling them, this was about 3 weeks ago,

a fella on here by the name of factoryphoto purchased thesame bike and talked to me about the "yamaha speedstar pipes" said they were made by vancs and hines i believe and sold thru yamaha.

well i took a chance on them and i personally feel that i didnt get hurt, they sound great,i have a link to a vid here.

thats my bike on a cold start.sounds great i think.
photo also has a vid of his pipe sounds as well,

if you have the 08 catalog from yamaha, the pipes are on page 147 i believe...its the black pages.

hope it helps.

The speedstar pipes for my '08 are on the way. The shop factoryphoto turned me on to is rockstarmoto.com. I am looking forward to getting them in the next 5 or days. Factoryphoto has sound bites of them compared to stock pipes in one of his posts.
Good luck!
