$2.30 rear wheel allignment 3 Years, 3 Months ago
$2.30 wheel allignment, i bought a 30" piece of fan/lamp at wallmart, heres what i did, color 1 ball on the chain about 10" from the end with the clip, loop it around the inside pivot of the swingarm on left side and clip on to the colored ball, next put a piece of tape on each end of axle and draw a center mark, next adjust left side to proper belt tension, now pull chain to center of axle, put a piece of tape on the chain and transfer center mark.now unclip chain and put chain on right side (making sure to clip on same colored ball in chain)now adjust axle until center lines up with mark on chain.i used this method yesterday and it worked perfect!!!

Great idea but with my after market pully I end up tweaking it a couple of time to get the belt to run in the center. My pully is not as wide as the OEM one I have about 1-2mm clearance on both sides.

Totally agree Curt, the best alignment is if the belt tracks on center, but it is tedious..

I get mine set and if I have to pull the wheel off I back the jam nuts all the way to the head of the adjusters. Then before I do anything else I take painters tape and wrap it around the adjuster bolt up against the bracket then back the bolt off. When I put it back togeather I run the bolt in until the tape just touches the backet. Remove the tape and run the jam nut down tight. It always puts it right back where it was with no fiddling to align it again.
