When adding an engine guard to your bike, get some rubber washers at Home Depot, Lowe's or your local hardware store that fit over the fasteners. Use them by sandwiching each metal washer to allow sleight movement of the guard to prevent cracks by hard mounting the guard. You will not feel any vibration, but will protect your bars from cracking.
