Ok so if you notice when you turn your bike on the lights are dim, i would not try to ride. I noticed it yesterday on my way home, got about 3/4 of the way and boom, dead bike at the bottom of the hill. It was a dead battery that would not hold or take a charge. Just a warning so you guys dont have to push your RS up a hill. Good part was i was able to coast from the top to my driveway. changed the battery and its all better now. The warning is out, if you think your battery is low you will not make it home. Take an extra 10 min and change your battery.

Ug, I would not want to push my R* anywhere... It's well balanced, and easy enough to maneuver, but damn if it isn't heavy. Maybe a spare battery in the bag or trunk may not be a bad idea. They're little, right?

This sounds like an alternator failure.

The battery is only required for starting an engine. This applies to all motorcycles, cars, trucks, etc.
Once the engine is running the alternator runs all the vehicle electrics & maintains the battery.
