Kuryakyn Grips 2 Years, 3 Months ago
The left grip on my Roadstar became unglued and slips off readily.

I am considering re-installing it the same way one installs grips on golf clubs: attach two-way masking tape onto the handle bar, apply solvent, slip grip over tape/handle bar, let cure overnight, and it's done.

Any comments or pointers? Thanks.

You can use hairspray to hold it on; and in the future should you want it off it can be gotten off without destroying it. You can also use supper glue (sparingly).

Nice tip with the hairspray. I've never heard that but it makes sense.

What brand product do you use Clifford?

Read that post at another site also, sounds pretty good. I use cyanoacrylate (insta-cure+) This is super glue on steroids! Get it at hobby shops. They also have an accelerator, use that with caution, it locks instantly. We use it on the wheels of our nitro cars and trucks.

I don't know that any particular brand is better or worse than any other. Just the stuff that women and a few men use to make their haido stay put.

Black spray paint worked for me. Spray it in grip, slide on and allow it to dry (I let mine dry 24 hours)

Mahalo for your good advice, it's obvious that there are many ways to solve this problem. I actually followed Kuryakyn's Support advice and used some glue I had at home. It worked fine, and when for a late-afternoon ride here in Honolulu. Thanks!

I use Aqua Net "Superhold" in my 'tater gun. It seems to be the most explosive! Cost a dollar at the Dollar Store! It's pretty sticky. It will shoot a 'tater clean outta sight!
