Guys,
Again, if you are running the Factory Yamaha Shield, It has a special coating on it that can be rubbed, scratched through. When I got my bike last year, A 99 Silverado there were several odd spots on the winshield that looked like it was peeling. I thought that mabey the origonal owner didn't peel off the protective film when he bought it and I thought what I was seeing was a hardened film over time just wearing away. I could scratch it off with mt fingernail. I had since found out that Yamaha has a special coating on their shields to protect from road wear etc. I have a new shield now and it is crystal clear and i don't use anything but a damp chamois and a microfiber towel to carefully clean it now.
