Wheel Balancing Weights 6 Years, 8 Months ago
Just got done balancing my tires. As I dont like the stick on wheel weights looked for the spoke weights and could not find any that were reasonably priced(my opinion). Went to the fishing tackle store and bought what I think are called slip sinkers. They have a hole thru the center of them. They come in 1/8 oz 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 oz weights. When I got home I redrilled the hole just smaller then the diameter of spoke. I then used drill about the size of the spoke nipple and drilled the hole about 1/4 inch deep. Took a hacksaw and split the side of sinker open and put on spoke and recrimped tight. It works like a charm and I didnt have to pay $4.99 each for them.

Post edited by: DocShadow, at: 2005/09/03 19:12

Great work! Thanks.

I have custom rims so I stuck my weights on the inside of the rim (inside the tire), in the center.
