Do yourself a favor and make it easy, get a new nut and bolt. That is once ya figure how to take it off.

So thanks again for all the great advice/suggestions. I took the nut off by first removing the clutch switch off the bottom and then using a pair of small vice grips and pulled the nut down while spinning it off. It ended up being completely stripped (the clutch lever pin that is) in the middle only which is why it would not come off easily. Order a new pin and nut and should be back on the road by Saturday. thanks again everyone.

OH OH OH< I JUST REMEMBERED how to do what your up against!!! tighten it all back up, and use a new nut or a die (first forwards, than flip it backwards) to clean/chase the exposed threads. THEN the nut will come off easy with just thumb pressure on the flat headed bolt to hold it. (use oil, wd or marvel while clean/cutting) OR you could do the old school method and file them
