Fuel Gauge 11 Months, 1 Week ago
My gas tank was replaced after an accident and now the low warning light does not work and the gauge doesn't show full when I fill the tank. Is there something missing from inside the tank since it's a new tank or is it something that can be corrected?

First, check to see if the green connector at the rear of the tank just under the front edge of the seat is connected properly.

If that doesn't fix it, contact the insurance adjuster if it was repaired under insurance. Otherwise, welcome to keeping track of you mileage, or you could replace it.

Yeah, the green plug is plugged in. It's just alittle annoying that the gauge does not go all the way up when full.

some have taken the sender out of the tank and found it was loose where the float arm pivits for the pick-ups. you could take a peek and see if it needs to be tightend, losend, our straightend.

Take some WD40 and spray the green connector to clean it and make sure the female part of the connector is tight enough to connect to the male ends. If that doesn't fix it and you don't want to go back to the dealer on it I have the fix on my web site thanks to a clinic member. Go to My Site and click on the Projects button and scroll to the bottom of the second page and download the fix.

My gauge doesn't work just after I've filled up. Then after running around for a while it starts to work again. Must be an issue in the upper portion of the reostat.

I was directed to Stocked's intructions then too. They are really good and super easy to follow if you want to replace/repair the sending unit yourself.

For now, I can live with mine the way it is.

These gauges do take a long time to react after adding fuel to the tank, but I guess you are talking about more of a problem than that.

Others have suggested pulling the negative battery cable off over night. I tried that too but no good.

Good luck.
