Stupid question, but,
Does the gas need to be out, or just the weight from the gas removed?
In an 2008+ bike, the gas doesn't need to be emptied (I'll let the carb dudes address those bikes), but finagling on a full tank, while not difficult, makes you more prone to banging it up on something. It's not light.

Right, why monkey around with the weight of a gas tank that has several gallons of gas in it? "Work smart not hard!"

How many miles on it?

I just did a trip doing between 60-70 and I was getting 150-160 before the light came on and about 3.7 gallons. I calculated about 41-42 mpg on the trip and loaded up. I now have about 4000 miles on it. I was getting about 29-32 city, the light was coming on at about 100 miles. Not sure if this helps. Just a reference from a 2008 Silverado with stock windshield.

Corey that sucks,we have the same bikes, and i'am getting 53-55 miles to the gallon.

Just turned over 32,000k tonight, could not be happier with the fuel mileage.

Maybe just need to get some more miles on it.

Quit being a poser and start riding, just kidding.
