AIS 7 Years, 3 Months ago
I recently started viewing this site, and it has a lot of good stuff that Roadies can learn. I took the AIS idea and it was a too easy. Thanks for all the good info. I'm sure somebody has already done this, but on the 2005 models all you need is the replacement flanges and of course the plug for the airline hose if you do not use a Hypercharger. I took some extra steel bits I had hanging around, (L-Brackets) cut them down to size, drilled the holes for each flange and trimmed each down to size with my grinder and that was it. Each flange matched perfect and no leaks. It took 30 (thirty) minutes to remove the AIS and another 30 to make the flanges and saved $20 bucks for the kit. Thanks for all the help. Thought I would pass this along. Paul

Check the Tech Tips section. There are 3 articles there that explain the process and have pics.

If you just want to disable the AIS then pull the vacuum hose off; either at the AIS side or the maniflod side. Plug the AIS vacuum line (a golf tee works fine) and if you have pulled it off the manifold, put a rubber cap on the manifold nipple.
