Dingo,

Our good friends at Yamaha build 'em with a 5% error factored right in.. don't ask why. The pulley adds another 6%. You'll read on your speedo about 11% faster than you're actually going... of course, if you leave it that way, you'll also get 6% better gas mileage than ever you got before!

I highly recommend the Speedo-healer and totally pan the other speed correction unit... what's their name? Speedo-Healer can be set by just punchin' some buttons after you install it. The other brand requires you ride and fiddle with it while holding a steady speed!

They gave me all my money back... including shipping!

Yeah, But it's a one time cost. And it works great. It will also give you your top speed read out.

Question on the Speedo-healer. Does it also correct the odometer as well as the speedometer? I'd assume changing the pulley or tire size would also affect the odometer.

I have to learn from others mistakes, because I will not live long enough to make them all myself....although I do have a good head start on it.

Oh man I really like it I havent gotten to ride it a WHOLE lot, but enough to get the feel of it. I will have to get used the change in shifting gears a little, but my favorite part is the ammount of pull I have in 3rd and 4th gears.

SpeedoHealer has some information about that on their site. Basically correcting a fast speedometer causes a double tap on fuel mileage. 1. you're now traveling at the same road speed as indicated on the speedo which takes more fuel and 2. The odometer is accumulating fewer miles which lowers the mpg.
