O2 sensor location 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I'm picking up my new pipes tomorrow (HK 2.75 Big Straights) and have to have O2 sensor bungs welded in.

My question is how close to the head is too close?

I now I need to stay away from the outbound end of the
pipes so the reading is not off due to reversion but
can I go too far the other way. I just don't know where
the heat shields will allow access to the inner pipe. and don't want to fry the sensors.

This is how I have done mine. I took a cloth measuring tape ( you can use electric or masking tape) and measured from the header end of the pipe to the oem bung hole. I then transfered that distance to both of my new pipes so that both would be the same distance and if that was the distance that the yamaha engineers thought was best, then i figured that was the best distance for my bassani's...

I think I'd let the wiring length dictate where you mark the holes. You probably don't want to have to splice them.
