Throttle - Using push cable for pull 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey all, I cant for the life of me remember the thread but in the recent past was thread where someone was asking about just using one cable... blah blah blah ... when a question was asked as to whether the "push" cable could be used on the pull side if the pull broke. Well Im here to tell it can be done. I replaced my overly worn out grips today with a new set of Avon's Well I was planning on eliminating the push cable during the replacement but when I opened up the switch box, I found the pull cable badly frayed. Not wanting to buy a cable right now (since Im working on the Ape conversion) I took the push cable and MADE it work. Im planning on running it until I change to the apes as well.

I can say in an emergency it would get you home, you may not have full throttle but if its the only option you have it can be rigged quite easily.

For my slightly more permanent install I had to put a small diameter, but thick washer that was aprx. the same thickness as the plastic slack adjustment nut, but in a pinch it wouldnt be necessary.

Just thought I would pass the info along in case it might help someone down the road...or get on down the road
