I cant't buy it here but it's "Chevron Techron". You can also use Yamaha Ring Free or Seafoam.

Either one, if you use the full dose (shock treatment ?), after using up the tankful you will need to change the oil and filter as they will be very dirty.

You can also put Seafoam in the crankcase.

I've used a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil in my tank when I had a problem. I also sprayed a bit through the carb with the engine running. Loosened up a lot of carbon

Todd,

"is that fuel injector cleaner(techron) ???"

Don't know but probably yes. Have to wait for someone who's had it as I can't get it here.

Not the gear oil, just the engine oil if you do the full treatment. It loosens up the carbon which blows by the rings and contaminates the oil. If you add a maintenance treatment you'll be OK.

http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/fuels/additives/concentrate_plus.shtml

I've always used Seafoam to clean it out and to put in my tank for over winter. It's always worked well for me.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/05/25 16:05
