Hello everyone!
My name is Jason (*Hi Jason*) and I live in DFW area, Allen to be exact. I just bought a 2007 Road Star 1700, the silver/flames one, and am loving it!

I am new to the cruiser world, but not riding. I have alwayws been on Yamahas, but I have been on sportbikes for quite some time, and just sold my pride and joy, my Yamaha R6. I guess I am coming to realize that comfort, ease, and long distance riding is more my style now Although, with maybe 15 miles on it, I came around a corner to my house, heard this god-awful scrapping sound, the footboard came up on me, and my heart stopped, I thought I was going down! SHEEEEEEEESH, someone should explain to us sportbike guys that scraping is going to happen!! LOL

I love it, and am ready to start my mods. V&H Longshot HS to start, and I am sure I will need some intake mods, and some jetting...(have to learn all that stuff ) Only 8 miles on the bike 2 days ago, 130 today, and many more to come. Thanks in advance for the "Welcomes"!

Coming off sport bikes myself I know what your talking about. The first corner I took I scraped the boards hard. It took a while to get use to taking it easy on the corners.

Hey Jason, could you re-size your pics to 50kb or less, that pic of your roadie is 1.4m. it's gonna kill the folks on dial-up..

Jason - first of all welcome. You're going to hear lots of opinions and advice. Most of it is all good & pretty much everyone is willing to help you with whatever you need. I was considering V&H longshots and had a dealer who suggested looking at the Hard Krome version instead. Just another idea for you to consider. You made a good choice with your bike as it already looks really sharp. Hang on to your wallet & some day we'll see about getting all of the TX folks together.
