Livin' Large in New Mexico 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi Guys, I have had my 2001 R* for only two weeks now and I had forgotten what I had been missing for the last 30 years. It is truly amazing to be back up. Lots of good info on this site, thanks to everyone for all the straight stuff you see here, I read all I can. I am new to all this, so keep me straight when possible, and what does "Bump" mean?

FreakinOldGuy! Sounds like what my son would say when I get the best of him (which ain't often). "Bump" just takes a topic and moves it up on the list of posts. Kind of a polite jumping ahead in line thing. If you aren't real mechanically inclined but want to save a few bucks in repair/modification's here's the place to do it.

Has it had the recall done yet? Make sure that it has. There should be a punch spot above the vin. number on the neck, or check with you local stealer with you vin.

Thanks BMATPT, Yeah the recall has been done on this one and has been well taken care of. I think I will only have some minor tweaking on the carb to make it perfect.

Now that is probably not exactly true. The purchase is just the start. A R* is an addiction and this sight will get you in way deep. You will start seeing things that need to be changed and it goes from there.

Well, I can see you guys are not buying my view through these rose colored bifocals. Yeah, it's true I already see a couple of things that it would be nice to have. It looks like I'm cursed...
