Hi Everybody
My name is Cecil and I ride a 07 V Star 1100. I used to ride back when I was 19-22. I'm 57 for about another week. Just got the VStar end of March. The wife and I like the bike but are already looking for something a little bigger and more comfortable for longer rides. I really like the look of the Road* so I joined the forum to check out the good,bad and ugly of the bike. The dealer wants us to get the Venture but I'm pretty fond of the V Twin engine especially air cooled. Plus the Venture is pretty heavy and my meet barely touch the ground.
Anyway, I'll be lurking mostly and reading what's going on with problems, fixes and modifications and whatever with the RoadStar.

Welcome
One reason I like the Road star is how simple it is. It's very easy to maintain. I'm not so sure about the Venture.

Just keep in mind when reading that there is more good than bad about the R*

I live in Denham too! Are you looking at new or used? I bought mine used off ebay from some guy in SC, but there are a few good used ones locally too...most of the dealers here weren't willing to come off the price of their new castoffs from previous years, but I'm glad they didn't---the bike I bought ended up with aftermarket pipes and a BAK, two things I probably wouldnt have done myself, but I would have wished I had. Have you rode with the group that gets together on Sundays in Prairieville? I've been trying, but haven't been able to make it each time for one reason or another...Welcome! |
