Hi,
I have been a Road Star rider for about 5 years now (though I have been riding on and off for 40 years) and love the bike. I put on about 10,000 miles a season (about 8 months a year in the midwest). I am fast approaching 50,000 miles on the bike and thinking that sometime soon, something more than routine maintenence will be riquired for my bike, e.g drive belt or wheel berrings, etc. Can anyone give me an idea or a chart that tells me what I should be doing when?

A week ago I biked from Indiana to New England and back...it was a great ride. Upstate New York was absolutely beautiful...I loved the finger lake region and riding through the mountains east of albany was a treat. I also rode thru the Birkshires, Green and White mountains, all of which were a joy to the eyes. It is a trip I would love to repeat in the Fall.

I'm from the Birkshre mountain area, east of albany, in eastern N.Y......gotta love it....but now live in southern maryland and don't get back as often as i'd like

decesq. Like hotelfox said, if it ain't broke... The RS will tell you if sometihing is wrong. After a while you get used to the "noises" it makes. When a new sound chimes in it's the RS trying to tell you something. There's enough expertise here to put almost any factory mechanic's knowledge to shame. At least here no one's trying to BS you and have you pay for it to boot.
