Taking the plunge! 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Alright guys, I've been reading this forum for a few years now, and I'm trusting that all this enthusiasm for R*s is warrented. My leftover, new, 2007 Midnight Silverado arrives next week!

I'm moving up from a 2003 Suzuki Volusia that been an amazing little bike, one that offered me and my wife a lot more than we expected for the price (bought used in 2006).

But it's time for some serious cruising ability. I need to be able to mix it up with the semis on the turnpike with a little more dignity.

My background: Riding 39 years, since 5 years old. Motocross racing off and on since 1982 in California, Arizona. Road raced from 1986-1991. Worked in the magazine industry and at dealerships until the late 80's.

All this experience and yes, you read it correctly, I bought a Volusia in 06. Here's the deal: I got hurt pretty bad riding the Vet class on a YZ250, sold the bike, and decided I'd better find something to put that money into or I'd be a long time crawling back to motorcycling. The Volusia was about even money, and I went for it.

My wife and I are just now coming up on being empty nesters, and re-discovering cruising (which we did a lot of 20 years ago) has been a real boost for our relationship.

So now, a better cruiser for the two of us (and for me!).

I have lots of questions, but I'll post them in the appropriate sections.

I'll get pictures up asap.

That's for the intro.

Hope the new ride is as enjoyable as the Volusia.
