New owner with a question 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I bought a new 07 Roadie a couple of months ago and have a couple of questions.

I'm looking to change from the stock seat that came with my 07 Roadie. The driver seat seams to be fine but my wife is not very comfortabe. We have been looking at the Mustang Seat, the passenger is wider. What's eveyones opinion? Can anyone tell me if the back rest for the driver seat hits you in the lower back or up in the middle of the back (I'm average hieght, about 5' 10" This is a very expensive option and I would really like to get some input before I order one.

Or does anyone have a better suggestion?

I also found a Corbin seat and if looks like it might be the one.

She also complains about her feet being to high. I found an after market set of floor boards that are offset and move her feet forward, down and are wider than the exhaust. Any comments or suggestions here?

  • I am running the stock pillion as well, but I have the OEM floorboards and my wife loves them. The only problems with them are, I inadvertantly got the brushed aluminum finish as opposed to the chrome, and they seem like they come really far forward and occasionally I will hit my legs on them if she is riding with them down. Hope this helps.

    First of all, billmel
I'm not sure about the seat part I have the stock seats as well, wife don't like it very much either. I think there is an article on flipping the rear floor boards, you can do a search and find it. My wife is only (I'm gonna give her a little extra here) 5' tall, so they are fine for her the way they are stock.

I am running the stock seat, front and back so I can't help you much in this department, however there are those that have bought every seat ever made for our bikes and they will show up eventually.

    Welcome!

I have had both the mustang and the corbin

Mustang, the wife will like it better
Backrest is adjustable in height and adjusts forward and rearward.
at the highest point it hits just below the mid back. can be adjusted while riding down the road.

    Corbin.
Not as comfy for the wife, but I like it better.
Backrest is at one fixed height and I cut mine down to be lower.
backrest cannot be adjusted unless you remove the seat from the bike.

Hope this helps and others will also chime in!!!

if you flip the pegs it will give you about 5 inches lower, problem is, you will need some lower hung pipes..

Yep, what billjr said...Drivers Backrest on Mustang is removable and adjustable (but you have to purchase it when you order-you cannot put it on later, different seat style between with and without drivers B/R). You will need lower than stock pipes to do the flip of the boards too.(like they said).Good luck and...

    Mustang`s here Wify don`t complain any more I have a 30" inseam
and I like the fact it sits me slightly more forward, plus I just put Baron`s Kickback risers on tobring the handle bars back and up slightly.
and the drivers backrest is amust for those longer trips

I have the Ultimate rider and passenger seats on mine. Had 'em for about a year now and still find them very comfortable. Lots of opinions around here. The only way you'll really know is to find some and sit on them, which isn't always easy to do. They all have a return policy if you don't like what you buy.
