Re:Please introduce yourselves!! - Again 7 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi, I am Russ Dupper (mailman99207). I live in Spokane Washington. I am married to my beautiful wife Peggy, for 8 years now. I lost my 1st wife, of 25 years to cancer. Peggy and I have 4 kids total, 3 daughters, 34, 23, 23 and a son 32. I retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 20 years. Of those, I spent 12 overseas, 3 in Korea, 1 in Turkey, 3 in Greece, and 5 in Germany. After retiring, I did some odd jobs, such as tow truck driver, taxi driver, and general handy man. I have been working for the Post Office for 9 years now and really enjoy the job. I love delivering mail in -20 degree weather (lol).

I started riding motorcycles when I was 13, learning on a friends Honda 350. I have ridden most Japanese bikes, with one Harley thrown in for good measure. I sold a '96 Goldwing SE and bought my 2000 Roadstar. I was amazed at how much more comfortable the Roady is. I have done a couple of 600 mile days on it with no problems. The Goldwing was only good for 300-400 miles before you had to quit. I have been following the RSR forum for about 1 1/2 years now and have enjoyed it very much. The wealth of information that comes from the other forum members is priceless.

I hope to ride my Roady until I can't ride anymore (maybe they'll have a trike kit by then), and hope to be a member of the forum for many years to come.

Hi most folks call me Bern, I live in Quebec Canada a few miles outside Ottawa, fluently bilingual, married with a son and daughter . I taught martial arts for many many years. My initial formal schooling was auto mechanics, tune-up specialist, got tired of the grease, re-educated myself at University in Business and got a gov't job.

Not working full time on engines brought back the joy, last 15 yrs i switched to rebuilding motorcycles as a hobby and do odd jobs and maintenance on Roadstars mainly, bikes are easier to work on with limited garage space. Have owned many bikes, my number 303-99 Roadie may be my last rider, not project bike.

Been posting on the Roadstar forum since 1999 back then my moniker was Bern11, a computer crash lost my moniker now its Motostar. Still adding little bits to my 99 Roadie every winter, my last mods are chromed 04 wheels and braided brake lines i also hand polished the rear rotor 'wax on wax off' LOL, next year I want to gussy up the front end.

Welcome to the Clinic Moto!

Sounds like you really made some changes in your life. Anyone willing to do that should be congratulated. Good job!

Working on Road Stars is like life therapy for me (sounds like you are having the same experience). I enjoy the process, and find it is quite settling for me.

We share the same enjoyment of working on our rides, its the sense of accomplishment the distraction from the reality of life's other problems, good for the mind.

Funny how when we introduce ourselves we can summarize the milestones in our lives in such a few words, geez maybe i said to much .

BTW great job on this site !
