Welcome, Map! I live in an area where 90% of them are back roads...not too many main ones! Much more fun to exp;lore the mountains that way.

Hi Doc. Ya it's bonnechere cup race weekend ( and the track is about 1/2 km through the bush right behind my house. Lots of noise today. I'm thinking about going with my 19 year old son and his girlfriend. Our neibours son is racing today as well. http://www.bonnecherecup.ca/
Well it's a toss up between that and ice fishing? We spent the afternoon on Golden Lake yesterday biggest fish caught was a 5lb. ling.
I'm guessing you are around Carlton Place (I thought I saw you mention that on the site?)?
Have you ever come up this way and done the Peterson Rd, Elephant Lk. (county rd. 10) route. Thats my favorite ride, and it's on the way to my parents place in Coboconk. http://www.cmgonline.com/touring/Tours/PortPerryToRenfrew/index.html
If you are looking for someone to ride with this summer I usually do long tours every Sunday. There are so many great secondary roads around here that lead from small towns to other small towns. Makes it interesting to get lost on purpose, stop and have lunch somewhere new each time.
If you want my email let me know. Thanks for the welcome reply.

Hi Cougar. How do you like the Dooley's? I've been thinking about ordering pipes this spring. How do they sound? I like the look, and I don't want really loud pipes. I had Cobra pipes on my v-star and they were just a little too loud. Do you have to re-jet or anything?

West Ottawa, actually.

I was up in Beachburg a couple of weeks ago for a hockey game. That's a real COLD arena.

We'll have to see what we can work out this summer. I have no problems getting lost, hence the need for a GPS.

Re:Please introduce yourselves!! - Again 5 Years, 3 Months ago
Good morning!

My name is Kevin. My wife Dee & I live in north-central West Virginia (120 miles drive south of Pittsburgh, PA). Two boys still at home: Jalyn (16) and Christian (9), plus ne gone from the "crib": Sean (24).We'd both been married before, and each had sons from previous. Christian came along shortly after we wed. Since then it's been "My Three Sons".

My first wife's brother got me interested in bikes waaay back in college-bought his '74 Honda CB450 when he bought a '77 Superglide. Went from there to a new '78 Yamaha 650 SE, then into Harleys. Last bike was a '79 Harley FLH I bought from a local bank as a repo (only paid 'em $3,300-real reasonable for a oil-leaking Hog that had to be tightened up every 400 miles or so...).

Brother-in-law hit a woman head-on in 1980, and I quit riding the day he died (my wife at the time loast him at age 21, her sister in a car wreck at 18, plus a 1st cousin who's paralyzed since 16 from flipping his bike on a RR crossing. WAY TOO MUCH BAD KARMA).

After 25 years and 11 months of wishing and wanting, did my homework and bought my '05 Roadstar last March. Dee got an '06 V Star 650 Classic-though she'd never really ridden a bike.

WEll, I'm ate up with it again (have most of you fellow bikers become obsessive-compulsive, too? From all of the great looking bike pix, I'd say yes). TRYING to limit my wants/needs this year to beachbars and chromed floorboards (any ideas/input appreciated!), and maybe some tank graphix....

Any of you all coming thru, drop a line and we'll ride (Skyline Drive is only 3 hours away or so...).

Happy Trails!

Hey fourjp

Having a Roadie is what counts. Trust yourself to work on her. It's all pretty simple if you stay on the outside of the motor.

I'm very sorry to hear of your losses. That's a lot to deal with. Glad you're back to riding and your wife has started. Take it easy and don't do anything your uncomfortable with. Give it all the time it needs.
